Georgia Body-Positive Gym Rallies Behind Community Offering Free Virtual Fitness During COVID-19

ATLANTA, GA, April 22, 2020 - Clarity Fitness, Georgia’s first body-positive fitness center is offering free virtual services targeting mental and physical well being. As COVID-19 continues to heavily impact the world, the downtown Decatur facility's response has been to rally behind the community in an effort to positively increase health and wellness practices. Since closing its doors in March, the small business is pivoting to a digital hub offering resources that include daily positive messages and free fitness classes for first-time members. To join a class email info@clarityfitness.com. According to a recent poll on the Kaiser Family Foundation, nearly half (45%) of adults in the United States reported that their mental health has been negatively impacted due to worry and stress over the virus. In addition, maintaining healthy habits has been a top concern with increased hours being spent in the home. Clarity Fitness recognizes the challenges that working from home and being in quarantine amplifies. “We serve as a non-traditional fitness center whose mission is to meet our community where they are on their fitness journeys. Our efforts will remain focused on keeping our community healthy and uplifted while offering free resources. Our new virtual training and online programming are also helping to keep our team working during the quarantine," said CEO of Clarity Fitness Abbey Griffith. Clarity Fitness will re-open on May 18th under strict limitations and following the CDC's guidelines.
